This short tutorial will show how you can mint and list your track for sale on the largest NFT marketplace for $0.00 in a few minutes.
Prerequisites:
- Have MetaMask wallet extension installed, and Polygon Mainnet network added (see links in the video description on how to set it up quickly)
- Have your audio file, album art, and track/album description ready (link to free album art generating tools below)
Instructions
- Open OpenSea.io
- Click on the Account Icon, choose Profile, and login with MetaMask
- Click Create
- Upload audio and image
- If you already have the track published on SoundCloud or similar platform, share a link to it
- It is recommendable but not mandatory to fill in the description, pick a collection and add a few properties. You will be able to edit this information even after your minted.
- Pick Polygon as the blockchain choice, and enter how many NFTs you’d like to be listed
- Hit Create, and after a few moments you will be able to Share the link to your NFT track with your friends.
After a couple of minutes of propagation time, you will see the option to list your NFT for sale
- Hit the Sell button
- Set price – currently the minimum is an ETH equivalent of $5.
- Maximum duration of the listing is 6 months, but feel free to make it shorter.
- If you are listing an NFT for the first time, OpenSea will provide instructions on how to add Polygon network to your MetaMask wallet.
Follow the guided steps on how to sign the transaction. It may ask for a fee, but after a couple of rejections and a couple of mintues the request for the fee disappears, and you may proceed to listing your NFT music for free.
- Validate and sign the listing transaction
OpenSea recently fixed the creators’ fee at 2%, and each sale will be commissioned with 2.5% taken by the platform itself.
